Facts
Curtis made a routine of beating D, his wife. He even once fired a gun in her direction. D called the police numerous times and even sought a divorce but stopped because Curtis was sorry. Curtis had been drinking and once again used D as a punching bag. D fought back, grabbed a knife, and killed Curtis. D was charged with manslaughter. D sought to introduce expert testimony on battered wife syndrome. The court denied the request. D was convicted and appealed.
