Facts
Copeland (P) sued Compton (D) over an auto accident. P claimed injuries to his neck and back. D showed that P suffered similar ailments prior to this accident in that in 1972 P fractured his back in a bicycle accident that resulted in severe and chronic, neck, head, and back pain. In 1992, P's weight was 336 pounds and P was 5'5' tall and that P was involved in no fewer than three accidents with cars in 1979,1980, and 1987; all resulting in his treatment for neck, and back pain. P further testified that he had no complaints of pain at the scene of the accident and that he lied about his medical condition in connection with an on the job injury he sustained after the collision with D. The jury found negligence but found that P suffered no damages. P appealed.
