Camplin (D) was a 15-year-old boy who lived with a middle-aged Pakistani by the name of Mohammed Lal Kahn. D killed Kahn with a chapati pan. D's only defense was that he was buggered by Kahn despite his resistance and laughed at by Kahn when the event was over. D then took the pan and killed him. The trial judge read the jury an instruction that included a standard that D should be judged as a reasonable man in like circumstances and not as a reasonable boy. D was convicted of murder and appealed.
