Facts

Misty Wilson (P) was a minor child born prematurely with brain damage and retardation. P sued the doctors for medical malpractice. During trial, an in court demonstration between P and her special education therapist was permitted over the objections of D. D claimed that the demonstration served no purpose other than to win the sympathy of the jury. P was awarded $2.5 million, and D appealed.
