Hays v. Bryan Cave Llp
446 F.3d 712 (2006)
Facts
P brought suit in an Illinois court, charging Ds, a law firm who had represented P in a federal criminal case, with malpractice. P was convicted and did not appeal, and the denial of his motion for post-conviction relief under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 was affirmed. Ds removed the case to federal district court on the ground that it arose under federal law. The district judge dismissed it on the merits and P appealed.
