Facts

Lemmerman (P) alleged that she was sexually abused by her father and aunt for ten years beginning in 1939 when she was three. P attempted to tell her mother but was threatened with scissors. P then developed a second personality which took her place during the abusive episodes and this repressed P's active memory of the abuse. After several sessions of therapy, P discovered the abuse and filed a complaint in May 1990. The trial court dismissed the complaint under the statute of limitations, and the Court of Appeals reversed holding that the discovery rule was applicable. D appealed.
