Facts
The British ship Plato was wrecked, but the crew of ten men rigged up a longboat and sailed into the harbor of the Island of Mallatta. Six members of the crew went ashore and were killed by the natives. Two more members of the crew were killed in a running chase. The island was not under British control. Waina (D) and Swatoa (D) were two natives who participated in the attack. They were tried and convicted for murder in a British court.
