Facts
Freeman (D) was involved in a campaign to raise money for starving children in Ethiopia. D robbed to obtain money for the fund. D used a mask and threatened to kill anyone who called the police. D then changed clothes to avoid detection. During his trial, D pleaded insanity. D was convicted and appealed. The Insanity Defense Reform Act required that D prove by clear and convincing evidence that he was insane.
