Facts
A bank kept money whose serial numbers had been recorded together with other money. The bank was robbed, and money whose numbers had been recorded was taken. Marcontoni (D) was a suspect, and the police went to his house. D allowed the police to search his house. A detective examined money found at D's house and recorded the serial numbers. He discovered that two bills had serial numbers that matched the planted money. The detective went back to D's house with a search warrant but did not find any more marked money. At D's trial, the detective testified about the bills that he found at D's house. D was convicted, and he appealed, claiming that this testimony should not have been admitted.
