Facts

Wilson (D) knocked a person down took her paycheck and attempted to flee from the township poor relief office. D was apprehended by the other employees present. During trial, a xerox copy of the paycheck was introduced into evidence. D objected as no proper foundation was laid to excuse the state from producing the original. The objection was overruled and the evidence admitted. D was convicted and appealed.
