P made a written contract with D to purchase his farm for $19,000 with $1,900 paid as a down payment. D instead decided to sell to Windon for $26,000. P sued for $10,000, and a judgment was entered for P for $7,000 plus $700 in interest. The written contract called for liquidated damages of 10% of the agreed sales price. D appealed.
