Facts

Beattie (D) was a resident of Missouri. D let his cattle run loose for grazing. D was arrested, tried, and convicted because he allowed some cattle to run at large in Sharp County, Arkansas. The cattle had strayed into that state and grazed before D could drive them back to Missouri. D was convicted and appealed.
