482 U.S. 569 (1987)
Nature Of The Case
This section contains the nature of the case and procedural background.
Facts
The Airport Commissioners (D) banned all first amendment activities at LAX airport. Jews for Jesus, Inc. (P), is a nonprofit religious corporation. Snyder, a minister of P, was stopped by a Department of Airports peace officer while distributing free religious literature on a pedestrian walkway in the terminal area at LAX. The Board of LAX (D) adopted a resolution to prohibit all First Amendment Activities, and P's activities violated that resolution. The officer requested P to leave. P was threatened with legal action if he refused to leave as requested. P left and then filed an action challenging the constitutionality of the resolution under both the California and Federal Constitutions. P prevailed, and the Supreme Court granted certiorari.
