Facts

A number of Philadelphia police officers (D) were indicted by grand jury for conspiring to deprive citizens of their civil rights and for committing substantive civil rights offenses. They were all represented by Sprague and Rubenstein until the government moved to disqualify that law firm. That motion was granted, and the Court of Appeals affirmed. The court of appeals held that the order was appealable under the collateral order exception.
