New Jersey has a Supreme Court Rule that barred a judge's spouse could run for political office. The Supreme Court of New Jersey in an advisory opinion upheld its policy and Mrs. Gaulkin (P) wife of Judge Gaulkin requested a formal reconsideration of that opinion.
