471 N.E.2d 424 (1984)

Facts

A 57-year-old homosexual wanted to adopt his lover, a 50-year-old homosexual. The two had resided together for more than 25 years. The older desired to adopt for emotional, social and financial reasons. Family Court denied the petition; they could not use adoption for purposes properly served by marriage, wills, and business contracts. The court also reasoned that they lacked any semblance of a parent child relationship. This decision was affirmed. This appeal resulted.
