Facts
The Georgia Supreme Court affirmed the conviction against Appellant Jenkins of ‘distributing obscene material’ in showing the film Carnal Knowledge. The film depicted a woman with a naked midsection, nudity, and made elusions to sexual intercourse without ever showing sexual activity. The decision of the Georgia Supreme Court was based on a unanimous jury verdict. The U.S. Supreme Court reversed.
