Li (P) was crossing three lanes of traffic to enter a gas station. She was hit by Yellow Cab Co. of America (D), who was driving too fast and had run a yellow light. P sued for damages from the accident. The trial court barred P's recovery on the grounds that she was contributorily negligent. P appealed.
