Nature Of The Case

This section contains the nature of the case and procedural background.

Facts

Pinter (P) was a firefighter and emergency medical technician for the city. P responded to a woman who was injured in a collision that was allegedly caused by Jesmok and Otto. During his response, P had to maintain traction on the victim from a difficult position over a period of time. Because of this, he sustained an inguinal hernia. P sued the drivers who caused the woman's injuries, and the trial court granted summary judgment to Ds; one who negligently causes an injury is not liable for the negligence when that same person causes injury to the firefighter who comes to aid the injured.
