The legislature has imposed a prohibition on abortions after roughly six weeks, and then essentially delegated enforcement of that prohibition to the populace at large. The State (Ds) argue that they cannot be restrained from enforcing their rules because they do not enforce them in the first place. Over six weeks after Ps filed suit to prevent the Act from taking effect, a Fifth Circuit panel abruptly stayed all proceedings before the District Court and vacated a preliminary injunction hearing that was scheduled to begin on Monday. Ps requested emergency relief from the Supreme Court.
