n. An inoculation of a person with a vaccine, intended to produce immunity to a specific disease. The act, art, or practice of vaccinating, or inoculating with the cowpox, in order to prevent or mitigate an attack of smallpox. Cf. Inoculation. In recent use, vaccination sometimes includes inoculation with any virus as a preventive measure; as, vaccination of cholera.
